Over the past couple of decades, more and more independent production companies have been popping up in Hollywood. Among them is Blumhouse Productions, responsible for films such as Academy Award winner Get Out as well as The Purge franchise. Specializing in the thriller and horror genres, Blumhouse has made quite the name for themselves since they began producing films in 2010. In the past few years they have begun dabbling in television as well, most recently beginning production on the anthology series Welcome to the Blumhouse through their imprint Blumhouse Television in 2017. This week they released the trailer for the second series of the series, and it appears to be right on par with what they have become notorious for.
Debuting on Amazon Prime Video last fall, Welcome to the Blumhouse is an anthology series consisting of independent parts with each telling a different chilling story. The first season consisted of four, with stories ranging from a murder cover-up to a car crash that causes a man to question his reality. Now the series is returning for a second run, with the new trailer highlighting the first two stories that will be told and does so in typical Blumhouse fashion. From what we can gather, one of the two will be a vampire story while the other appears much more ominous and mystic. The trailer also partially unveils the release date, with the second season of Welcome to the Blumhouse coming to Amazon Prime Video this October.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, virtually everybody on Earth has had to get creative in hopes of maintaining a sense of normalcy. Hollywood is of no exception with this new series from Blumhouse Productions being a prime example of that. The trailer does a good job of showcasing the upcoming installments of the series while still capturing the true essence of Blumhouse. Fans and newcomers alike can catch the next two chapters of Welcome to the Blumhouse in the coming weeks on Amazon Prime Video.
