Originally founded in 1923, The Walt Disney Company has spent the better part of an entire century establishing themselves as one of the greatest media and production companies in the entire world. Disney’s history is both rich and expansive dating back several decades, and now Disney is set to explore their own history in a new project that is set to explore the creation of their iconic California theme park Disneyland.
While Disney was founded in the 1920’s, Disneyland didn’t officially open its gates until a few decades later when it was founded in July of 1955. Deemed “The Happiest Place on Earth,” Disneyland was a direct byproduct of the genius of Walt Disney himself when he envisioned a place where both adults and their children could enjoy themselves together while additionally recognizing that the Disney studios didn’t have much to offer fans who wanted to visit. This would ultimately be a monumental decision for the company as Disney theme parks across the world now host millions of visitors every year, and Disneyland was the first of them all. The founding of Disneyland is now set to be explored in a new Disney+ series that will examine the themepark’s creation under the tutelage of their iconic founder, with David Gordon Green, known for his work on the most recent reboot of the Halloween franchise, set to direct the new series.
