Nas is teaming up with DJ Premier to drop something special. The two rap legends haven’t told fans if they’re dropping a single or project together. However, the duo did unveil that their anonymous record drops on July 15th, 2022. From the 11-second video Premier posted, Nas can be heard rapping while a plaque of his musical achievements is shown off.
Nas and DJ Premier’s first collaboration was on the rapper’s Illmatic project.
They worked together on songs like “N.Y. State of Mind,” “Memory Lane (Sittin’ in da Park),” and “Represent.” Following this, the hip-hop legends partnered up for “I Gave You Power,” “Nas Is Like,” and “2nd Childhood.” Their catalog together just goes on and on.
In 2021, DJ Premier told VladTV that he and Nas had discussed creating a joint album. Nas is also one of Premier’s favorite rappers. He told Hard Knock TV,
“It’s always fun to work with him because we’ve got a formula and a vibe that already works, so it’s not difficult. It’s like seeing a long-lost cousin.”
