The 1969 film Easy Rider is being remade with a newer perspective. According to Variety, a new movie based on Easy Rider is in the process of being developed.
The film producers are looking for “bold directors or writers” to help them. Their goal is to address current issues as the original Easy Rider did.
The filmmakers have leaned on Creed films and the world of Rocky to see how they will create the reboot.
Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, Jack Nicholson, and Luke Askew, to name a few, starred in the original movie. It amassed $60 million worldwide against a budget of only $400,000. Additionally, it was lauded by the National Film Registry via the Library of Congress. They called it “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
