Lil Yachty is on the hunt for a band this year, but one specific requirement needs to be met. The rapper is looking for an all-women assemble to help him create magic. It’s still being determined why he’s looking for musical assistance. But I’m sure the reason will reveal itself soon.
On Instagram, the “Poland” hitmaker said he’s looking for 2-3 background singers, a guitar player, a bass player, a drummer, and a keyboard player.
“Yachty is putting a band together. I want an all-girls band,” he wrote underneath the post. “Tryouts for my band Thursday. Shall the most talented women please pull up… Let’s Meet! See U Soon, Ladies!”
This announcement comes after Lil Yachty’s upcoming album got leaked. He was supposed to drop it sometime this year, but those plans were scratched after it got on the interwebs somehow in late December.
The album, titled Sonic Ranch, had more of a trippy-inspired sound. Luckily, fans still have his project, Michigan Boy Boat, to play on repeat. Debuting last year, the album features Michigan-based MCs like Veeze, Baby Smoove, and Rmc Mike.
