Since the dawn of the streaming era, television programming as a whole has seen new life breathed into it. While streaming certainly changed the way that consumers are watching and enjoying their favorite shows, it also changed the rate at which these programs are consumed and propelled countless television shows into the stratosphere of the modern entertainment industry. Not every show pans out of course but those that do resonate with audiences in a way unlike virtually any television show before them, highlighting just how seismic this shift has been for the new series that have emerged in recent years. One of those series is now set to make a comeback very soon, as the first official teaser trailer for season three of Ted Lasso was unveiled this week alongside the official release date for the highly anticipated new season.
Originally premiering in August 2020 on Apple TV+, Ted Lasso stars Jason Sudeikis in the titular role as a retired college football coach who is enlisted to instead coach a fictional English Premier League soccer team. While expectations for Sudeikis’ character started off relatively low, in surprising fashion he manages to win over the team and its executives and helps breath life into what is initially a struggling soccer club. Season two of Ted Lasso ended up being equally as successful when it debuted in the summer of 2021, and since then fans have been eagerly anticipating the beginning of season three which is set to kick off next month. Well those fans are in luck as the official teaser trailer for the third season was just unveiled this week and in the 1:15 clip they are treated to a montage of their favorite characters holding up signs with the word “believe” printed across them, and while further details remain sparse at this time it is seemingly a good omen of what’s to come. Fans will just have to find out for themselves however and can begin counting down the days until the official third season of Ted Lasso debuts on Apple TV+ on Wednesday March 15th.
While Jason Sudeikis is best known for his more comedic roles, he has done an incredible job of translating that humor to a new type of series unlike any project he has ever been a part of. That is made especially evident by the success of the first two seasons and the anticipation for the upcoming third season, which has fans virtually foaming at the mouth. They won’t be foaming for much longer though and they can expect to see the return of Ted Lasso in exactly one month.
