Over the decades, a myriad of successful film franchises have left their mark upon Hollywood. From iconic horror franchises such as Friday the 13th to more recent efforts like the beloved John Wick franchise, filmmakers have covered a vast array of topics and created cinematic masterpieces in the process. Arguably none are as big as Star Wars however, the sci-fi epic crafted by the legendary George Lucas that helped pioneer the use of special effects as we know them today. Star Wars fans are in luck today, as Disney and Lucasfilm revealed a sneak peek animated short and some of the official art for their latest project Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures.
Originally premiering in 1977, Star Wars transported moviegoers to a galaxy far, far away unlike anything they had ever seen before. George Lucas helped pioneer the use of special effects on a much larger scale than ever before and, in the process, created one of the most iconic film franchises in Hollywood history. This is exactly why the franchise has been live and well for nearly five whole decades now, with a total of 10 films released to date and a number of spin-off projects that have helped establish the Star Wars universe. Now the latest spin-off is right around the corner with the release of the first official sneak peek of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures. You can see all three short trailers here, with the first and second being reposted above and below this paragraph, and in them you see a much more playful and whimsical take on Star Wars than ever before in which three young and budding Jedis are honing their skills in the hopes of becoming the next Luke Skywalker or Obi-Wan Kenobi. It certainly looks interesting, and fans can look forward to three more shorts set to be premiered in the coming weeks prior to the official release of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures May 4th on Disney+.
In the modern era of Hollywood and filmmaking, spin-off projects are more popular than ever before. While we’ve seen plenty of Star Wars spin-offs though, this one is certainly unique in its own right and should fit in well with the rest of the Star Wars projects currently being hosted on Disney+. Eager fans can now begin counting down the days until Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures premieres on Disney+ in just over a month.
