Over time, film fanatics have been treated to the talents of a wide range of actors and actresses that have played a special role in creating some of Hollywood’s most memorable projects. The list is long and the talent encapsulated in it seemingly limitless, with television series and films that live on in pop culture history as proof of that. But few names have earned the same level of esteem as Denzel Washington, who has spent several decades now at the top of the entertainment industry with his roles in films such as 2000’s Remember the Titans, 2007’s American Gangster and so much more. Now he is back with his latest project and the official trailer for the highly anticipated The Equalizer 3 that is sure to excite fans.
Originally debuting back in 2014, The Equalizer saw Washington undertake the role of a retired U.S. marine and government agent who is forced back into action in the form of vigilante justice. Loosely based upon the 80’s television series of the same name, the 2014 film was such a resounding success that a sequel was delivered back in 2018 to near identical fanfare that virtually ensured a third installment. Now it appears to be closer than ever, with the official trailer for The Equalizer 3 hot off the press as production is wrapped and the film prepares for release. In it we see Denzel seemingly enjoying retirement and at peace in his newfound home of Southern Italy, but that gets interrupted by a group of thugs who have moved in on the area and aren’t hesitant to cause havoc. Regardless though, they appear to be no match for Denzel as it looks like he hasn’t even taken a day off and is eager to close out The Equalizer trilogy on a strong note. The trailer for The Equalizer 3, a generous 3 minute clip from Sony, can be seen below, and the film itself is expected to premiere in theaters on September 1st.
Denzel Washington is without a doubt a Hollywood veteran at this point in his career, but that doesn’t stop him from being one of the hardest working men in film. After decades in the film industry, here he comes with another blockbuster project that is likely to leave his fans very happy. The Equalizer 3 will see the esteemed actor say goodbye to the role after nearly a decade since the first film premiered, but the franchise will likely live on with fans for much longer and they can catch the film in theaters this September.
