Spawn will be the Blumhouse version of a superhero game, according to the film production company’s owner, Jason Blum.
During last week’s New York Comic Con, Blum stated,
“I’m going to bring the Blumhouse edge [to the Spawn movie]. It’s going to be edgy and original as compared to other superhero movies. It’s gonna definitely feel like the Blumhouse version of a superhero movie.”
Spawn is a remake of the original Spawn movie that premiered in 1992. It was co-founded by Image Comics member Todd McFarlane. Another Spawn film hit theaters in 1997 before a third one was released via Blumhouse in 2017. By 2018, that version of Spawn made a special debut on the big screen as well. As per Blum, the movie will be released in the next two years.
