Shrek 2’s re-release date has been set for the film’s 20th anniversary. According to Coming Soon, the animated DreamWorks film will premiere on April 12, 2024. Tickets are now on sale through Fandango and other ticket sites. However, AMC Theaters is selling them for only $5.00.
Shrek 2 hit big screens in May of 2004, amassing $900 million at the box office. The movie is a sequel to the first Shrek film and follows newlyweds Fiona and Shrek as they set off to meet Fiona’s parents at Far Far Away. Once they arrive, though, the two discover that no one is happy about their union, especially Fiona’s father.
Shrek has other installments and spin-offs, like Shrek the Third, Shrek Forever After, Puss in Boots, and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. A fifth Shrek movie is in the works, but no other details have been revealed.
Shrek stars Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz. All Shrek films have guest appearances from various actors/actresses as well.
