An animated Ghostbusters series is set to release on Netflix.
The news was revealed on Thursday (June 6) during Netflix’s Animation’s press presentation in Hollywood. Sony Pictures Animation also announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the Ghostbusters animated series was coming to Netflix.
“There’s something strange in the neighborhood…,” the tweet reads. “Our supernatural comedy series, based on Ghostbusters, is coming soon to @Netflix.”
According to SuperHeroHype, “the show is an exciting new take that will really surprise audiences.” So far, it’s unknown if it will feature returning characters from the Ghostbusters franchise or brand-new ones. The site also notes that the Ghostbusters animated series has a familiar iconography to the Ghostbusters films based on its preproduction.
The Ghostbusters animated series will be on Netflix soon.
