Tom Holland, who has perfectly executed the role of the web-slinging superhero in the last three flicks, has given Spidey fanatics a new update on Spider-Man 4. After reading the movie script alongside Zendaya, who plays MJ, he was full of glee about its direction. During an interview with The Rich Roll Podcast, the actor expressed that the draft moved him significantly and applauded the writers for their hard work behind the scenes.
“We have a creative and a pitch and a draft, which is excellent,” Holland stated. “It needs work, but the writers are doing great. I read it three weeks ago, and it really lit a fire in me.”
He went on to illustrate his and Z’s initial reaction to the script, implying that they fangirled over it in a way.
“Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we, at times, were like bouncing around the living room. Like this is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect,” he continued. “But there [are] a few things we need to figure out before we can get that really going. But it’s exciting, and I’m really, really excited about it.”
Before changing topics, he vowed to “deliver the best version of what the next chapter for Spider-Man looks like.”
“I think that’s really important, and I think the creative integrity for something like that is really important,” he declared.”The studio is on board and supportive and really collaborative, and I’ve been so blown away by how welcoming they’ve been into that creative room, but we’re working now with the pedal to the metal. We’re trying to get it going as soon as possible. Things are looking great, but a lot of moving pieces still need to come together for us to hit the ground running.”
Tom Holland’s latest update about Spider-Man 4 comes after he teased an announcement in his Instagram bio earlier this month.
