Rihanna recently praised Kendrick Lamar for being chosen to perform at the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the singer expressed how amped up she was to see K-Dot perform. It’s also worth noting that RiRi and Kenny have collaborated on songs like “LOYALTY.”
When asked her opinion about Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming set at Super Bowl LIX, Rihanna implied that he was one of the top rappers in the hip-hop game and gave him his flowers.
“GOAT! It’s a diamond on a ring finger. It’s meant to be,” she stated. “He deserves it. I cannot wait to see it. Kendrick, thank you.”
Rihanna performed at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2023, so in a way, it’s like she’s passing the baton to the pgLang founder.
RiRi co-signing K-Dot’s performance at next year’s Superbowl Halftime Show comes as the hip-hop world remains divided on Jay-Z‘s choice to have the rapper perform over Lil Wayne. His name has been brought up for the opportunity because it’s being held in New Orleans, Weezy’s hometown. Hov’s company, Roc Nation, is the NFL’s live music strategist.
Last month, Wayne expressed his disappointment at not being selected to perform at Super Bowl LIX. In a video on Instagram, he admitted to being hurt over the decision.
