Vin Diesel is hinting at a possible MCU Groot movie, along with The Last Witch Hunter 2 and more.
The actor hopped on Instagram to share an update about some projects he’s working on, expressing that he’s putting 100% into making his visions come to life. According to his caption, which can be seen below, he’s attempting to develop a sequel to The Last Witch Hunter and is figuring out plans for a new xXx movie. He also mentioned Disney’s interest in a Planet X film about Groot’s home planet and teased Mattel’s upcoming Rock ‘em Sock ‘em movie, which he described as the male version of Barbie.
Before closing out his lengthy statement, Diesel confirmed that a new Riddick movie is in the works and that he’s directing a film about the famous Detective Kojak. He’s also pushing to bring the Fast X2 finale back to Los Angeles. Additionally, he gave a shoutout to the Oscars for featuring a Fast Seven clip at the beginning of their ceremony.
Diesel voiced Groot in Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy films. In the past, he spoke about making a Groot-focused project based on the character’s home planet. However, Marvel Studios has not officially announced anything yet. Although the Riddick movie is expected to start filming this August, his other films don’t have set release dates.
Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy follows a group of misfit heroes who work together to save the universe. Led by Star-Lord, the team includes Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot.
