G-Eazy born Gerald Gillum is known for his sleek rap style and even sleeker hairstyle he often wears and now the “sober” rapper is looking to switch things up and head to the big screen.
According to XXL, Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming biopic penning Elvis Presley’s life has sparked several actors interest in depicting the late singer.
It has been reported that five actors have auditioned for the role so far. Including one directions former lead singer Harry Styles, Miles Teller, Austin Butler, Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Avengers: Age of Ultron) and Ansel Elgort (West Side Story remake).
Gerald was not originally an option for the role, but after several meetings with Warner Bros, the “1942” is in the running. Additionally, TMZ reports that G has sat down with the director of the film to talk about his “seriousness” in portraying the American icon since he has little experience on the big screen. His previous cameos were small on-screen appearances in series like The CW’s Riverdale, and HBO’s Insecure.
This is a big opportunity that could jump-start G-Eazy’s acting career and add another notch on his belt of talents.
