Keanu Reeves is back in action in the upcoming film, John Wick: Chapter 5. But the exciting news doesn’t end there. The actor will also help produce it as well.
This is groundbreaking information for fans, as his character’s untimely death in the previous movie left them wondering if he would ever return. Lionsgate’s very own Adam Fogelson dropped the scoop after he revealed the movie’s right-hand director, Chad Stahelski, Reeves, and the team wouldn’t return unless they had something fresh and exciting for fans.

“Keanu, Chad, Basil, and Erica would not return unless they had something truly phenomenal and fresh to say with these characters and this world,” Fogelson said in an announcement. “We can’t wait for audiences to see where the journey takes us next.”
Before the news of Reeves’ grand return to the John Wick saga was revealed, Lionsgate executive Jenefer Brown provided more intel about the sequel’s development in an interview with ComicBook. She confirmed that John Wick 5 is in progress and, at the same time, left fans uncertain about the character’s fate.
“We’ve shared that we’re developing a fifth John Wick film. [John Wick] may be dead]… We are all on bated breath waiting to find out,” Brown teased.

Beyond John Wick 5, the franchise is expanding with exciting new projects. The spinoff film Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas and featuring a cameo from Reeves, is set between Chapter 3 and Chapter 4. Brown also hinted at even more spinoffs, a television series, and even a video game, proving that the John Wick universe is only getting bigger.
