Fans have speculated that the new Superman movie will feature a superhero team. Rumor is that the team includes Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Mister Terrific. It also seems like they might be working for a character named Maxwell Lord. If the buzz is true, this could be DC Studios’ version of the Justice League International. But the team we see in the movie could potentially be an early version of the group, and they might not even be called the “Justice League” yet.
The name Justice League holds weight, especially because of the mixed reactions to the old DCEU films like Joss Whedon‘s 2017 Justice League and the 2021 Snyder Cut. Because of this, some fans think the new movie might jokingly call this team “Justice Gang” instead. The word circulated after a new Imaginext toy set was revealed called the “Justice Gang Multipack.” The set includes mini-figures of Superman, Guy Gardner, Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, Superman’s dog Krypto, and a monster called the Kaiju. All the heroes are wearing costumes with a “JL” logo, which is why the name “Justice Gang” doesn’t seem fit for the team. It might just be a temporary or playful name used in the movie.

James Gunn, who both helmed and directed the new film, has said this superhero team doesn’t officially exist in the DC Universe yet. In his words, if something from the old movies is mentioned in the new DC Universe, then it counts as having happened. Otherwise, it’s not part of the new story.
Eventually, when the full Justice League forms in this new universe, Gunn will likely include the big three: Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. So far, only Superman has been cast.
The new Superman movie is the first big film in the revamped DC Universe.
Superman tells the story of the superhero’s journey to balance his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent in Smallville, Kansas. He embodies truth, justice, and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that often sees kindness as old-fashioned.

The movie stars David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The cast also includes Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, and much more.
