Nintendo and Sony’s live-action Legend of Zelda movie has officially found two actors to play the lead roles.
On Wednesday, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto announced on X , formerly known as Twitter, that Bo Bragason will play Princess Zelda, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will play Link. He also shared photos of them in potential costumes.
“I’m happy to share that Bo Bragason will play Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will play Link in the live-action Legend of Zelda movie,” Miyamoto wrote. “I’m really looking forward to seeing them on screen.”
Bragason is known for her roles in Three Girls, The Jetty, and Renegade Nell on Disney+. Ainsworth, on the other hand, is best known for The Haunting of Bly Manor and Flora & Ulysses.
Wes Ball, who directed Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, will direct the movie. The plot will focus on Link and Zelda as they try to save the kingdom of Hyrule from the villain Ganon, based on the iconic Nintendo video game series that started in 1986.
The movie is being produced by Nintendo and Avi Arad’s company, with Sony handling distribution. Miyamoto and Arad are both producing the project.
