Alicia Silverstone has shared a small update about Peacock’s upcoming Clueless TV series.

During an interview on Today, she didn’t reveal much but said she’s “really excited” and wants the show to stay true to what fans love about Clueless and her character, Cher Horowitz. She added that the team also wants to bring something “fresh and new” to it, but the project is still in its early stages.
Silverstone will reprise her role as Cher from the original 1995 movie and will also serve as an executive producer.

Peacock announced the series in April. It’s separate from a planned 2020 reboot, which was going to focus on Cher’s best friend Dionne, that never got made.
The new show is being written by Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, and Jordan Weiss, with Clueless creator Amy Heckerling and original producer Robert Lawrence also on board as executive producers.
