Marvel Cinematic Universe has quietly re-casted Mahershala Ali‘s role as Blade in the Marvel Zombies Disney+ series. He’s reportedly been replaced by Todd Williams. Because of this, the upcoming film has been delayed for release once again. It was originally supposed to debut in theaters in November, however, due to numerous development issues and delays, it has been shelved. Disney also signaled the film’s postponement by removing it from its upcoming release schedule in October.

Marvel announced its Blade reboot, which starred Oscar winner Mahershala Ali, in July 2019. However, the film’s development has been tricky because several writers and directors have left the project hastily over the years. It was initially scheduled for production in the fall of 2022. However, filmmaker Bassam Tariq stepped away from it due to differing visions for its creative direction.
