HBO’s Harry Potter remake is officially including one key book story that was left out of the Harry Potter movies. According to Comic Book, the show will include a segment that includes Vernon Dursley going to work. It’ll also touch on the moment baby Harry is left at the door of 4 Privet Drive. From there, it quickly moves to Harry as a young boy. These instances were skipped because they would’ve extended the movie’s time and steered away from the main characters. At the same time, these parts included important background information in Harry Potter. The scene with Vernon speaks volumes because it reveals why he’s so horrible toward Harry Potter. Not to mention, it’s the first time that viewers get to see ordinary people react to magic, and how the wizarding realm celebrates Voldemort’s fall.

The new Harry Potter TV show doesn’t have the same time limits as the movies did, so there’s no reason to leave this scene out, and it’s great to see that it’s finally being included.
The show is currently being filmed and is expected to come out in 2027 on HBO and HBO Max.
