Austin Butler is acting as cyclist Lance Armstrong in a new untitled biopic directed by Conclave’s very own Edward Berger. The script was penned by Zach Baylin, who was Oscar-nominated for King Richard. Meanwhile, Scott Stuber is set to produce.
The film will explore Armstrong’s rise as a seven-time Tour de France winner and his decline after being stripped of his titles due to drugs. It will also touch on him beating cancer and the creation of the Livestrong Foundation. Stuber has secured the rights to the film, and it’s currently being pitched to studios.

Butler has several major films coming up, including Heat 2, Miami Vice, and Luca Guadagnino’s American Psycho. Butler is currently working on The Riders with Brad Pitt.
