Director Mike Flanagan has added a star from The Mandalorian to the new Exorcist movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, John Leguizamo will be acting alongside Scarlett Johansson, Jacobi Jupe, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, and Sasha Calle. While there are no details on his character or the plot, he might potentially be an antagonist.
Leguizamo voices the character Gor Koresh in an episode of the Star Wars show The Mandalorian. He also won the Outstanding Performance in a Variety Special Primetime Emmy Award for John Leguizamo: Freak in 1999. But his accolades don’t stop there!

He voices Sid the Sloth in the Ice Age franchise and has starred in numerous well-known movies, including 1990’s Die Hard 2, 1993’s Super Mario Bros., 1996’s Romeo + Juliet, 1997’s Spawn, 2001’s Moulin Rogue!, 2011’s The Lincoln Lawyer, 2013’s Kick-Ass 2, 2014’s John Wick, 2021’s Encanto, 2024’s Bob Trevino Likes It, and more.
The new Exorcist movie isn’t a sequel to 2023’s The Exorcist: Believer. It’s in fact a “fresh and bold” new take on the horror classic. The film is set to release on March 12, 2027.
