HBO Max has released a new trailer for the third season of Euphoria ahead of its long-awaited premiere on April 12, teasing an intense new chapter filled with romance, suspense, and major life changes.
The trailer opens with Zendaya’s character, Rue, being questioned in Mexico after getting involved with drug dealers. In one instant, she’s seen swallowing a stash of unknown drugs while working as a mule. Meanwhile, Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie and Jacob Elordi’s Nate appear to tie the knot. Cassie also surprisingly reconnects with Maddy, played by Alexa Demie, who helps her create NSFW content. Maddy and Cassie’s rekindled friendship comes as a shock, considering that Cassie dated Nate behind Maddy’s back in the last season.
Besides Zendaya, Sweeney, and Elordi, several familiar faces return for Season 3, including Hunter Schafer, the late Eric Dane, Maude Apatow, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Colman Domingo and Dominic Fike.
The new season also introduces a long list of newcomers, including Sharon Stone, Rosalía, Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Marshawn Lynch, and more.
At an HBO Max event in London last year, series creator Sam Levinson shared updates on where the characters are after high school. Jules is now attending art school and struggling with the pressure of building a career as a painter. Maddy is working at a Hollywood talent agency while juggling side hustles, and Lexi has become an assistant to a showrunner played by Stone.
