Grammy-nominated producer Tay Keith, best known for his sound tag “Tay Keith, f**k these n***as up!” in some of hip-hop’s biggest hits has passed away at 29 years old. According to Metro Nashville Police, Tay Keith was found dead on Thursday in his apartment in Nashville during a welfare check. Police said they do not suspect foul play, and his cause of death has not yet been determined.
Brytavious Lakeith Chambers, famously known as Tay Keith, built an impressive career working with some of the biggest names in the hip-hop industry. He earned high recognition for being the beat master behind songs for artists like Future, NAV, Moneybagg Yo, Eminem, Lil Baby, BlocBoy JB, and much more.

Some of his most notable credits include BlocBoy JB and Drake‘s “Look Alive,” Travis Scott‘s 2018 song “Sicko Mode” and Beyoncé‘s “Before I Let Go,”to name a few. He also helped launch Sexyy Red‘s career by producing her breakout 2023 hit “Pound Town.” The two later teamed up again on songs including “Pound Town 2” and “Get It Sexyy.”
In a 2022 interview with Rolling Stone, Tay Keith opened up about how growing up in Memphis shaped his sound and love for music. “I was born into this and raised in it,” he said. “Memphis music was all I listened to, and it was all my family listened to. My stepfather, who I’m still very close with, had a big influence on my taste in music.”
