A survival horror thriller where the ocean fights back…
Kathryn Newton and Lana Condor are leading a terrifying underwater plunge where a dream adventure becomes a fight for survival against an unseen predator lurking beneath Thailand’s coast. Here, paradise can be deceiving.
Prime Video is taking audiences beneath the surface this summer with The Devil’s Mouth, a suspense-filled horror thriller that transforms one final adventure into a terrifying battle for survival. Premiering globally on July 29th, 2026, the film invites viewers into a remote cave system where breathtaking natural beauty collides with an unimaginable nightmare.

Directed by Jeff Wadlow (Truth or Dare, Fantasy Island), The Devil’s Mouth blends claustrophobic horror, creature-feature thrills, and survival drama into a high-stakes journey where every wrong move could become the last.
A Dream Adventure Turns Into A Nightmare
The film follows five friends who embark on one final trip along Thailand’s stunning coastline before entering the next chapter of their lives. Looking for one unforgettable experience before adulthood takes over, the group signs up for a guided swim through The Devil’s Mouth, a remote cave system known for its incredible beauty and dangerous natural formations.
What begins as a once-in-a-lifetime adventure quickly becomes a fight for survival when the group discovers the caves are not as untouched as they appear. Following a powerful storm the previous week, the underground waterways were flooded with sea life carried in from the ocean. Trapped in unfamiliar freshwater conditions, many of the creatures did not survive. But something did. And whatever remains inside the caves is now hunting them.

A Descent Into Fear
Deep beneath the surface, the group finds themselves trapped inside a maze of narrow passageways, unpredictable currents, and complete darkness. With every corridor offering a new threat and every decision carrying consequences, the friends quickly realize that escaping the cave will require more than physical strength—it will test their ability to trust one another.
As panic spreads, their sense of direction begins to disappear. The once-close group starts to fracture under pressure, revealing hidden fears, personal conflicts, and the devastating reality of survival situations. In The Devil’s Mouth, the greatest danger may not only be what is hunting them. It may be what fear brings out of them.
A New Creature Feature Beneath The Waves
While survival horror has long explored the dangers of isolated environments, The Devil’s Mouth places its characters in one of nature’s most unforgiving locations: a flooded cave system. The film’s underwater setting creates a uniquely terrifying atmosphere where characters cannot simply run from danger. Every movement is restricted. Every breath matters. Every shadow could hide something deadly.
By combining the tension of underwater survival films with the suspense of creature-driven horror, the movie aims to deliver an experience built around uncertainty and escalating fear. The caves themselves become a character. Beautiful, mysterious, and completely unforgiving.
An Captivating Cast Faces the Unknown
Leading the cast is Kathryn Newton, joined by Lana Condor, Nico Hiraga, Gavin Casalegno, Tommi Rose, and Tayme Thapthimthong. The cast brings together a mix of rising stars known for both dramatic storytelling and genre-driven performances, creating a group dynamic that will be tested as their friendship gives way to fear and desperation.
Behind the camera, Jeff Wadlow directs from a screenplay written by Aja Gabel and Myung Joh Wesner. The film is produced by Basil Iwanyk, p.g.a., Erica Lee, p.g.a., and Jeff Wadlow, p.g.a., with Carsten H. W. Lorenz, Will Flynn, and Sam Greenberg serving as executive producers.
