Universal Studios Hollywood turned the famous Hollywood Sign into a giant, colorful display on Thursday night. The theme park used special projection technology to show colorful images from the Fast & Furious movies and its new roller coaster, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, which officially opened yesterday.
Universal worked with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to create the special promotion for the new ride.

The Hollywood Sign was originally built in 1923 as an ad for a real estate development. It originally read “Hollywoodland” and was meant to attract investors. Now, it’s one of Los Angeles’ most iconic landmarks that everyone admires when visiting the Sunny State.
The sign has appeared in many movies and TV shows, including Seinfeld, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, and The Day After Tomorrow. It has also been featured in ads for Cool World, The Muppet Movie, and much more.
