Cardi B, Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys, MGK, J Balvin and more brought serious star power to Milan as Vogue World celebrated the future of fashion through the art of Italian craftsmanship.
Milan Fashion Week already knows how to make an entrance. But on September 22nd, Vogue World: Milano took things somewhere else entirely. Inside the breathtaking Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Vogue’s fifth global fashion production transformed one of Milan’s most iconic spaces into a living celebration of fashion, music, culture and craftsmanship. Proving that sometimes the runway isn’t just about clothes. It’s about the moment.
From The Front Row To The Runway
Vogue World has become known for bringing together fashion’s biggest names with some of entertainment’s biggest stars, and Milan was no exception. This year’s production featured everyone from Cardi B and Jennifer Lopez to Alicia Keys, MGK, J Balvin and Levi McConaughey, with musicians, actors, athletes and models taking over the runway throughout the evening.
The show was organized around four acts exploring Italian “handcrafts and innovation,” beginning with “The Artisanal Revolution”. Gigi Hadid opened the show in a printed ballgown before J Balvin, EJAE and a lineup of familiar faces continued bringing the concept to life. And then the star power really started moving.
Cardi B Brings Her Own Fashion Energy
When Cardi B steps onto a runway, it’s never just a walk. For the “Made in Italy” act, Cardi turned heads in a Spring 2018 Versace dress featuring pop-art interpretations of past Vogue covers, paired with Tiffany & Co. jewelry. The look felt unmistakably Cardi — bold, glamorous and impossible to overlook. She was joined in the segment by tennis star Aryna Sabalenka in Gucci, Bridgerton star Simone Ashley and other fashion-forward names before the runway transitioned into one of the night’s biggest performance moments.
Jennifer Lopez Brings the Drama
Then came Jennifer Lopez. Lopez appeared in a romantic black embellished Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Roma gown from 2025, complete with diamond jewelry and slingback stilettos, turning the runway into something closer to a full-scale performance. Because with J.Lo, the distinction between fashion and entertainment has always been pretty thin. And Vogue World understood the assignment.
Alicia Keys Closes the Show in Style
Alicia Keys closed the evening, and her final look was every bit as artistic as the moment demanded. Designed by Francesco Risso and Alex Sossah’s Bureau of Imagination, the custom ensemble brought together satin, chiffon, georgette and crêpe de Chine, finished with thread and beads.
The concept was built around performance, movement, art and painting. An appropriate choice for an artist whose music has always carried its own visual language. As Keys performed Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love,” an all-white procession featuring Madelaine Petsch, Helen Christensen, Vittoria Ceretti, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, Iris Law and Scarlett White brought the evening to its finale.
MGK Meets The Age Of Intelligence
If the earlier acts celebrated craftsmanship and Italian fashion history, the fourth act looked toward the future. “The Age of Intelligence” brought MGK onto the runway in an orange Byblos jumpsuit and Camper shoes, with his signature blonde hair slicked back and his blackout tattoos fully on display. And because apparently one couldn’t get more futuristic than that, dancing robots joined the production. Fashion met technology without completely losing the human element.
From Hollywood To The Next Generation
The runway wasn’t reserved for established superstars. The show also spotlighted a new generation of recognizable names, including Levi McConaughey, the 18-year-old son of Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves McConaughey, who showed off his dance moves during “The Industrial Revolution”.
Ava Phillippe also walked the runway, while Adria Arjona made her appearance as boyfriend Jason Momoa watched from the front row. Meanwhile, Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline, Bridgerton actress Simone Ashley and others added even more Hollywood energy to the Milan presentation.
Fashion, But Make It Cultural
What made Vogue World: Milano stand out wasn’t simply the celebrity roster. It was the conversation happening underneath the glamour. The production placed Italian craftsmanship and human creativity at the center of a fashion landscape increasingly shaped by technology and artificial intelligence.
Vogue Italia’s Francesca Ragazzi described the event as an opportunity to celebrate the “timeless story of Made in Italy” and its craftsmanship while acknowledging the significance of doing so during the era of AI. And that tension of human hands versus technological innovation, gave the spectacle something deeper than another star-studded runway.
Milan Had Its Moment
From Cardi’s Versace moment to J.Lo’s Dolce & Gabbana glamour, MGK’s futuristic edge and Alicia Keys’ artistic finale, Vogue World: Milano made sure to remind the world that Fashion still knows how to put on a show.
The event marked the fifth installment of Vogue World, following productions in New York, London, Paris and Los Angeles. Next stop? San Francisco. But for one unforgettable night, Milan had the runway, the stars and the spotlight. And inside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Vogue didn’t just showcase fashion. It showed the world what happens when craftsmanship, culture and celebrity collide.
