Global Citizen Organization, is an international advocacy that supports sustainable development goals set by the United Nations. The group’s mission is to end world poverty by 2030 and now is acknowledging the ones who truly care.
The Global Citizen Prize will be acknowledged across five categories, including a youth leadership award, which honors an individual aged 18 to 30 who has contributed meaningfully towards the goal of ending extreme poverty.
John Legend, UK artist Stormzy, and Sting are among the stars confirmed to perform at an awards ceremony. Joining them will be Jennifer Hudson and Raphael Saadiq–special guests include Chris Martin and H.E.R., will gather in London’s Royal Albert Hall on Friday December 13. Legend will also be hosting the event, which will be televised the following week.
The prize includes $250k to be paid to the organization through which the winner has achieved impact. How will they decided who deserves this hefty amount you ask? Well, its for you to decide. The public vote open in all countries until November 26th will go towards determining the winner of the youth leadership prize.
The new event is the first major event of Global Citizen’s 2020 campaign to “get the world back on track” to achieve the UN’s Global Goals by 2030.
