PETA announced this morning (Nov. 21) that they, along with music producer Jermaine Dupri, will be kicking off Thanksgiving early this weekend by hosting a vegan Thanksgiving for Georgia families in need. The Thanksgiving event will be hosted in Atlanta’s Westview neighborhood and the meal will be 100% vegan.
The meal will feature a full holiday spread including roasted vegan turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy and pumpkin pie. Tofurkey roasts will also be given away during the event.
“I’ve been vegan for over a decade, and for me, there’s nothing better for feeling your best and knowing you’re helping the planet and animals. The holidays are about the spirit of giving, and PETA and I want to give people in Atlanta a Thanksgiving meal that’s healthy, humane and delicious.”
The Thanksgiving event will kick off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 23) at West Hunter Street Baptist Church, where the rapper will be joined by Dynasty star Elaine Hendrix, representatives from the Southwest Ecumenical Emergency Assistance Center, and more.
