Headed on her first trip to Africa, on Dec. 6, Cardi B sped off in her private jet later documenting the events of the night on her IG Story. With clips of her driving along streets filled with beautiful lights and a night of fun in rowdy strip club where she poses alongside dancers making it rain with naira (Nigerian currency) it was definitely a trip she’d never forget. But most important, was the work she did to give back to the people of Nigeria.
Before heading over to her performance at the Livespot X Festival, Cardi B stopped by an orphanage in Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday (Dec. 7) bearing gifts and plenty of supplies for those in need. “Gotta thank the ladies and the gentlemen that nurtured these kids that need just a little bit of more love and protection and gear them up for a better place, destiny and future,” Cardi wrote on Instagram. “People like YALL MATTER!”
Music executive Brooklyn Johnny, who also traveled along with Cardi, explained that they loaded up their vehicles with as much food, water, and supplies as they could possibly hold when delivering it all to the local orphanage. “We spent our only free time in Nigeria shopping for children in need,” he said. “We literally bought as much as the vehicles we had in our convoy could carry… Today was a good day.”
