In times of need we know exactly who to call, Cardi B.
Recently the Bronx native revealed that the current coronavirus pandemic had delayed her planned releases on new music. Then, in an unprecedented turn of events the rapper-singer was at the top of charts with a new song that isn’t technically a song.
DJ iMarkkeyz took the liberty of remixing Cardi B’s rant about the seriousness of the COVID-19 outbreak and how it has genuinely put fear into her heart. One would not expect this to later turn into the perfect turn-up song as we all isolate and self quarantine, yet somehow it is!
As the song continued to chart-climb and gain popularity, Cardi realized that both the video clip and the song were well on their way to becoming one of the most viral pieces of content on the internet as of now. Amongst this realization, the songstress felt it would only be right to share some of the proceeds from the song with victims of the virus and their families as a relief effort.
The song titled “Coronavirus” simply loops Cardi B saying, “Coronavirus! Sh*t’s getting real”, and it has managed to become a club banger.
Of course, as the song continued to work it’s way across the world wide web, TikTok dances and more fan made videos set to this song starting to grow in popularity. Then, a wise fan had a suggestion on Twitter: that its royalties should get put to good use for people affected by COVID-19 and the virus, asking Cardi and DJ iMarkkeyz if they “could consider donating a part of it to food banks or shelters that are probably flooded with new people needing help.”
Both Cardi B and DJ iMarkkeyz have come to agreement that that is exactly what they will do! Although it will be a while before we get to enjoy the hard lyricism, and true BX sounds of Cardi’s new album, we can turn up to the fast paced rant remix.
