When the world needed her the most, she swiftly reappeared bringing happiness and joy to all. Rihanna fans can all feel content now that she’s finally given us what we all wanted — new music!
This morning Rihanna featured on PartyNextDoor’s single, “Believe It,” from his latest album PartyMobile. The project dropped via Drakes label OVO Sound, and though we are still reeling from the thrill of hearing RiRi’s voice on a new record, many of us are now questioning when her much anticipated album R9 will be available.
Rihanna and PND are no stranger to one another since they previously worked together on the number one hit single “Work ” in 2017, the double-platinum “Sex With Me,” and the quintuple-platinum “Wild Thoughts,” where the Canadian R&B singer appeared as a co-writer. Although her last feature appearance was on N.E.R.D.’s 2017 track “Lemon,” PartyNextDoor was able to finally convince the super star into harmonizing with him on “Believe It.” Placeholder vocals were originally cut by PartyNextDoor’s girlfriend, according to the songs producer Bizness Boi, and Rihanna didn’t send over her contribution until Monday.
This groovy slow jam is a prefect blend of Rihanna’s raspy tone, and PND’s smooth tenor voice. Together, they crafted the perfect hook where Rihanna sings the melody and PND joins in harmony. I find it safe to say that this song will soon be breaking charts as it may just be the soundtrack to our “Quarantine and Chill,” future kick-backs, and sun-filled car rides to the beach.
