Amidst the trying times we’ve all endured Future delivers some good news, and compelling words of advice.
The notorious Atlanta rapper has announced that his upcoming album will be titled Life Is Good, inspired by his 2x platinum single featuring Drake. He recently broke the news in an interview for the XXL cover of their Spring 2020 issue.
“It’s about life and being good and just enjoying life,” he revealed about his upcoming effort. “So many tragedies and catastrophes and everything is going on in the world. And you want to enjoy life, as long as you have it. Waking up, breathing, well, you want to be able to soak it all up and be appreciative for every moment on this earth, every moment that you’re living.”
Upon its release “Life Is Good” swiftly claimed to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and currently sits at No. 5 with its undeniable winning streak. Future also details how his Life Is Good album will “define me at a creative level” and why it will serve as a monumental landmark in his career.
The rapper promises that the project will remain authentic to himself while exploring new untapped themes. “This album right here defines me at a creative level. Going to the next level where you just going to the next level and always going outside the box, but still remaining true to my core fans and my core audience.”
“It’s me trying new things,” he added, “I want to remain true to self, but also true to my fans and just giving them a good project, a great project to be able to listen to, but also for different artists to be able to feed off of, create off of, come up with different ideas and just being at the forefront of just making a solid album, a solid, complete album. It’s just very important to me.”
Throughout the interview, Future also discussed his previous work with Drake. The two have alluded to a sequel to 2015’s purely iconic What a Time to Be Alive (WATTBA), but it remains unclear if and when their joint project will see the light of day. “We always working on music and creating with each other and we create, building off each other’s ideas, feeding each other different ideas,” he said.
As we await the much anticipated Life is Good, and tease filled rumors of a “What A Time to Be Alive” sequel, we can all take heed to Future’s wise advice of experiencing gratitude, and enjoying the simpler things in life.
