Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, actor Tom Holland revealed that the third MCU Spider-Man was going to film in July. But first, Holland was slated to star in Sony’s Uncharted adaptation in Europe. Although the global shutdown has put both productions on hold, Holland shared his enthusiasm for his upcoming films during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this week. However, Holland also admitted he doesn’t know which film will be shot first.
“I was in Berlin, making a film called Uncharted with Mark Wahlberg,” recalled Holland. “We were all ready to go, we went to set for day one of shooting, and then we got shut down and we got sent home. So whether we shoot that movie first or we shoot Spider-Man first, I’m not clear.”
“But both movies are being made and they’re both really strong and the scripts are fantastic,” continued Holland. “So whatever happens, happens.”
So far, Sony hasn’t moved Spider-Man 3 from its July 16, 2021 release date. But the fact that Venom: Let There Be Carnage has the June 25, 2021 date makes it likely that Sony will move Spider-Man 3.
