Judd Apatow and Pete Davidson came together for a comedy film based on the “Saturday Night Live” star’s Staten Island upbringing looks like it’s skipping the movie theater run due to the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Before the pandemic, “The King of Staten Island” was expected to make its world premiere at SXSW followed by a secured spot in the Tribeca Film Festival.
The film was directed by Apatow who was a former “SNL” writer and co-written by Davidson. The announcement came Monday on from Apatow’s Instagram, who said he is focusing on his health during this quarantined time. Davidson most-pressing questions for Apatow: “Dude, what is going on with our movie? Am I still going to get an Oscar?”
“The King of Staten Island” will be streaming via Video-On-Demand June 12th, 2020.
