On Monday evening, Alicia Keys took TV host, James Corden’s place on his segment, The Late Late Show with James Corden. The other guest for the evening was Billie Ellish, who had a delightful conversation with Keys. But then the two took the show for a spin.
Once Keys transformed her hosting desk to a piano and Eilish smirked while sitting on the edge of the couch, Keys let the lighting commence. Then, the duo sung Billie’s single “Ocean Eyes” as vibrant blue spotlights cast over them.
“Ocean Eyes” was written by Eilish’s brother and was intended to be for his band. Originally, the track was suppose to be used for a routine Eilish was creating for her dance class. Given this, she uploaded it to SoundCloud, with no intention of promoting it for anything else. But the internet had other plans. Pretty soon, “Ocean Eyes” gained numerous traction and jump-started her career.
