On Thursday (Dec.5) former B2K singer Omarion announced that R&B singer Ashanti will officially be joining the Millennium Tour 2020. This decision comes after he received a lot of heat from fans due to the lack of female representation included in the original lineup.
“TOUR ALERT! So excited to announce that *Ashanti* will be joining The Millennium Tour lineup,” Omarion wrote to Instagram with the updated tour flyer. Additional cities will be added to the North American trek at a later date. Tickets for the tour went on sale Thursday morning with the tour kicking off in Louisville, Ky., on Feb. 29.
Ashanti was first discovered as a teenager, later signed to Murder Inc. in 2002, and became the first female artist to occupy the top two positions on the U.S Billboard Hot 100 chart. She is known for hits such as “Foolish” and Fat Joe’s “What’s Luv?” Ashanti has been keeping busy this year with a few singles like the Afro B-assisted “Pretty Little Thing,” “The Road,” and “Floating.” She also just recently graced the cover of Tory Lanez’s Chixtape 5 project featuring on “A Fools Tale (Running Back).”
