The soothing, crystal-clear vocalist, Billie Eilish speaks highly on those she admires, including musicians. Recently, she joked about her childhood obsession with Justin Bieber. But now, she’s come forward about another artist she enjoys listening to: Childish Gambino, a.k.a Donald Glover.
During her interview with me & dad on Apple Music, the baggy clothes trendsetter played some of her favorite tunes, including Gambino’s “Bonfire,” which can be found on his 2011 album, Camp. Additionally, Eilish unveiled how Gambino has made an impact on her life.
“This is from the album my brother, Finneas, and I found Donald Glover through. Incredible collection,” she added. “The first song I heard ever from him and was actually I think the first song I heard that was like rap was ‘Heartbeat’ from this album. From then on, everybody knows that Donald Glover is like, one of my all-time favorite creators. He’s exactly everything that I idolize about a creator. He’s every single element of what I think is amazing.”
Eilish also praised Gambino for “the most hardcore bars I’ve ever heard” on Bonfire. She continued with, “I love that it’s three minutes long because you just rap the whole thing along. Like I rap along, and then it’s done. It’s like, the entire thing, and boom.
