Paramount and Skydance have partnered with Activision to make a live-action Call of Duty movie. Based on the popular 2003 video game franchise, the new merger enables Paramount to develop, produce, and distribute a live-action feature film that ties together COD’s 30 mainline games. This project is especially important to Paramount’s Chairman & CEO, David Ellison, who has been a longtime fan of the game. He says bringing Call of Duty to the big screen is a dream come true and promises to deliver top-notch quality, just as he did for Top Gun: Maverick.
“As a lifelong fan of Call of Duty, this is truly a dream come true,” Ellison said in a statement. “From the first Allied campaigns in the original Call of Duty, through Modern Warfare and Black Ops, I’ve spent countless hours playing this franchise that I absolutely love. Being entrusted by Activision and players worldwide to bring this extraordinary storytelling universe to the big screen is both an honor and a responsibility that we don’t take lightly.”

Activision tried to launch a Call of Duty film back in 2018 with director Stefano Sollima, but it never moved forward. So far, there are no details about its storyline or cast list. Call of Duty is one of the most successful in video game history, selling over 500 million copies worldwide and remaining the top-selling series in the video game industry for 16 years straight.
