Pokémon is a cartoon series that many individuals across the world celebrate. The show was created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1995 and focuses on fictional animal-type creatures called “Pokémon,” which humans (or Pokémon Trainers) catch and train to battle each other for sport.
Because of the show’s notoriety, it’s been able to run for 25 years. And let’s not forget the influence that Pokémon has on pop culture. Not only have video games been made for the show, but there’s also been an app called Pokémon Go and a movie that centers on the thunder-shocking, cute yellow creature called Pikachu.
Given all this, The Pokémon Company International intends on celebrating the series’ success with a partnership with Universal Music Group that’s dedicated to its 25th anniversary. The new movement is known as P25 Music. The program also has enlisted J Balvin, Katy Perry, and Post Malone in a year of collaborations and surprise activations matching music artists with the Pokémon brand.
“Pokémon is pulling out all the stops for P25 Music, and I’m thrilled to join the program as one of its premier collaborators,” said J Balvin. “I’m looking forward to adding my own unique flavor to this huge Pokémon party and adding more good vibes to the celebration.”
Moreover, the popular franchise conducted a virtual, animated concert that’s run by a cartoon version of Post Malone. During his time on stage, he performed popular hits like “Congratulations” and “Circles.”
Pokémon will also call on some of the hottest new artists worldwide for additional song collaborations. Additionally, P25 Music and Universal Music Group will team up to drop “Pokémon 25: The Album,” which will be released by Universal Music Group’s Capitol Records. The album will feature 14 songs by 11 different Universal Music Group artists.
Fans can watch the concert on Pokémon’s 25th-anniversary website at Pokemon.com/25, where they can also keep up with the latest news for P25 Music and more celebrations across the franchise.
