Crazy Ex Girlfriend’s co-creator, Aline Brosh McKenna, just signed a three-year deal with ABC Studios, according to Deadline. McKenna’s new agreement allows her to develop projects across all television platforms, including Hulu. The first project that’ll premiere under the partnership is a musical comedy titled Hit. As of now, Hit is under development at Hulu.
The show will explore the life of a Gen X pop star, struggling to write her debut album. For her record label execs, songwriting boot camp serves as the resolution.
“I am so excited to be partnering with ABC Studios,” said McKenna. “Dana (Walden), Jonnie (Davis) and the whole development team have so much passion for creating unique, quality television. I’m thrilled for the chance to continue working on projects I love. I hope the Lean Machine will be a home for material that is character-driven, inclusive, human, and which puts writers and writing at the center of the creative process.”
There is no premiere date, as of yet.
