Amazon Studios plans on making a show based on the 1999 teen drama movie, Cruel Intentions. The cast list officially includes Sarah Catherine Hook, Zac Burgess, Khobe Clarke, Brooke Lena Johnson, and Sara Silva. They’ll take on the roles of the movie’s main characters, Caroline, Lucien, Scott, Beatrice, and Cece. Sean Patrick Thomas, who played Ronald Clifford in the original film, is said to play a new character named Professor Chadwick.
The synopsis reads:
“Set in Washington, D.C., the Cruel Intentions series follows two ruthless step-siblings who will do anything to stay at the top of the Greek Life hierarchy at their elite college.
When a brutal hazing incident threatens the entire Panhellenic system, they’ll do whatever is necessary to preserve their power and reputations… including seducing the daughter of the U.S. vice president.”
The movie took inspiration from the 1782 French novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses. It stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Philippe, Reese Witherspoon, and Selma Blair.
