Disney+ plans on releasing a music documentary about rising pop star Olivia Rodrigo. The said documentary will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at her creative process via Sour. Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U (A Sour Film) will air on March 25, 2022, marking the album’s first anniversary. In May 2021, the album peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Not to mention, Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U (A Sour Film) will delve into her personal life and carry intimate interviews. Furthermore, fans will learn more about Rodrigo’s artistry.
President of Disney Branded Television, Ayo Davis, said in a statement,
“This is a unique film experience where for the first-time fans will understand how her album came to be and why it was such a personal journey for Olivia.”
“This is not a concert film per say, but really, an opportunity to experience first-hand how Olivia Rodrigo became one of the biggest music stars of the day – and a chance to see her perform the songs from Sour like never before.”
The documentary is directed by Stacey Lee and produced by Interscope Films and Supper Club. It’ll also have 11 songs from Sour performed with brand new arrangements in Mojave Airplane Boneyard, Roy’s Motel & Café, Arcosanti, and the Red Rock Canyon State Park.
