For almost 100 years now, the world of Disney has captivated its fans with a myriad of classic films and projects that have helped establish the company as one of the preeminent media corporations in the world. With countless iconic projects under their belt ranging from animated classics such as Beauty and the Beast to more modern, live-action films like Haunted Mansion, you would be hard pressed to pick a film from Disney’s gargantuan catalog that wasn’t commercially successful. They have additionally remained hard at work since the beginning of the pandemic, launching the Disney+ platform and producing a wide array of new content for eager fans who were stuck at home for months on end during the government-mandated periods of quarantine. Now their latest project, or projects rather, will take an inside-look at what makes Disney so magical and how their iconic films come to fruition in today’s age with two behind-the-scenes documentaries about Disney films set to debut this year.
Given how big Disney has become in recent decades, the process of what makes the media giant so special is equally as alluring as their timeless films are at this point. Earlier this year they announced plans for a new Disney+ series that will be taking a look at the creation of Disneyland, the first and only Disney theme park founded under Walt Disney’s tutelage. Now they have announced plans for more behind-the-scenes projects that will explore the process behind creating a Disney film, with the productions of Lightyear and Turning Red being put on full display. Neither film is scheduled to be released until next year, however demand for them is clearly already high as Disney is utilizing said demand to dictate their next move and provide viewers with an up-close and personal perspective on both films’ production. Both projects are expected to premiere on Disney+, however it is unlikely we see either of them before next year when the projects that inspired them are set to debut.
Even when it may seem like Disney has done it all, they find a new and inventive way to appease their fans and Disney+ subscribers. They did an incredible job doing so even during the peak of the pandemic when virtually everybody was forced to quarantine at home, and now they get to reap the benefits of what they have sewn with Disney+ for the foreseeable future. Dedicated Disney fans and Disney+ subscribers can remain on the lookout for further updates about Turning Red, Lightyear and the behind-the-scenes documentaries that will take a closer look at both projects in the coming future.
