Percy Jackson novelist Rick Riordan announced via Twitter that Disney+ is turning the book series into a television series. The Percy Jackson novel franchise began in 2005 with The Lightning Thief. Afterward, The Lightning Thief’s latter, Sea of Monsters, dropped. Then, it followed with three other books: The Titan’s Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth and The Last Olympian.
The Lightning Thief transitioned as a film in 2010 with Chris Columbus and Logan Lerman, starring in the titular role. As a result, the movie amassed over $226 million on a $95 million budget, which led 20th Century Fox to order two predecessors.
