Yesterday, Fat Joe responded to UPROXX’s article on Twitter, saying that he made the biggest mistake of his life.
Two days ago, Joe was speaking at an event for 99 Jamz Miami, and that’s when he thought back to when Eminem gave him his demo tape six times. Elaborating, Joe said “Everywhere I went was this little white boy and he kept giving me his demo. He was like, ‘Yo, listen to my music, I’m telling you, I’m nice, I’m nice, I’m nice.’… I didn’t do it and now he’s the biggest guy in the universe.” But this isn’t Joe’s first time missing out. He once stated that a similar thing happened when Rick Ross approached him about being signed.
Regardless, it’s safe to say that Fat Joe remains one of the biggest names in the game.
If we’re being honest, Fat Joe is undeniably a legend who has paved the way for other prominent artists.
Joe also shared with 99 Jamz that he helped Pitbull along the way. According to the rapper, he was close with Pitbull’s manager. And because their bond was inseverable, Joe took Pitbull’s demo tape to New York and got him a record deal.
Fat Joe’s collaborative album with Dre titled Family Ties is set to release on Dec. 7.
