The first teaser trailer for Fear Street: Prom Queen has revealed the official release date for Netflix’s latest horror film. This marks the newest addition to the popular horror franchise, inspired by R.L. Stine’s novel of the same name. The trailer features Stine himself and opens up with the next installment of Fear Street, which is set at a senior prom. The film stars Fina Strazza as Tiffany Falconer, India Fowler as Lori Granger, Arianna Greenblatt as Christy Renault, Ella Rubin as Melissa McKendrick, and Rebecca Ablack as Debbie, to name a few.

Fear Street: Prom Queen is directed by Matt Palmer, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Donald McLeary. The film is produced by Kori Adelson, Dan Bernard, Peter Chernin, August Linn, and Jenno Topping, with Yvonne M. Bernard, Jane Stine, and Joan Waricha acting as executive producers.

“In this next installment of the blood-soaked Fear Street franchise, prom season at Shadyside High is underway and the school’s wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown,” the official synopsis states. “But when a gutsy outsider is unexpectedly nominated to the court, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of ’88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night.”

The Fear Street trilogy follows a group of teenagers in the cursed town of Shadyside, where a series of brutal murders seem linked to an ancient evil. In 1994, the teens uncover a connection to a vengeful witch named Sarah Fier, whose curse haunts the town across different time periods. In 1978, the curse’s origins are explored at a summer camp, while 1666 reveals the tragic story behind Sarah Fier’s persecution and the creation of the curse. The trilogy blends slasher horror with supernatural elements as the characters fight to break the deadly cycle.

Fear Street: Prom Queen premieres on Netflix on May 23.
