A trailer for Searchlight Pictures’ comedy film, Flamin Hot, has officially dropped today. Coined by the fiery Cheetos taste, Flamin Hot focuses on its founder, who first worked in the cleaning industry. Or as the synopsis says, “It is the inspiring true story of Richard Montañez, who, as a Frito Lay janitor, disrupted the food industry by channeling his Mexican American heritage to turn Flamin’ Hot Cheetos from a snack into an iconic global pop culture phenomenon.” The movie will premiere on both Hulu and Disney+ on June 9.
Richard Montañez formulated the plan that ended with awakening the tastebuds of those who love Cheetos and spice. He’s said to be inspired by his palette for delicious food and his roots.
The movie stars Jesse Garcia, Annie Gonzalez, Dennis Haysbert, Emilio Rivera, Tony Shalhoub, Matt Walsh, Pepe Serna, Bobby Soto, Jimmy Gonzales, Brice Gonzalez, Vanessa Martinez, Fabian Alomar, Mario Ponce, and Hunter Jones. Eva Longoria is said to be the director. The visual inspo behind Flamin Hot came from Lewis Colick and Linda Yvette Chávez‘s screenplay.
