An exclusive red-carpet movie premiere for Freakier Friday was held at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles. Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, who are reprising their roles as Anna and Tessa Coleman, made an appearance alongside Chad Michael Murray, Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Rosalind Chao, Vanessa Bayer, Christina Vidal Mitchell, TV host Lili Estefan, and her daughter Lina Luaces, and many more. The event also featured a mini Parent Trap reunion, with Lohan’s former co-stars Elaine Hendrix and Lisa Ann Walter. Everyone in attendance was able to see a performance from the fictional band in the movie Pink Slip, who performed their hit “Take Me Away.”


In the 2003 movie, Lindsay Lohan plays a rebellious teen who aspires to become a musician. The original Freaky Friday focused on a mother-daughter body swap after the two bumped heads often. Freakier Friday is said to continue the tale about a daughter and mother who switch bodies. This time, however, the duo returns in a new and mature way. According to The Hollywood Reporter, bring a multigenerational approach to the story.” In the new movie, Anna Coleman has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. “As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice,” the logline reads.
